A Mobile Notary Public is a commissioned Notary Public who travels to a location convenient for you to perform notarizations. Instead of you coming to an office during business hours, we bring the notary services directly to your home, office, hospital, or another agreed-upon location within the City & County of San Francisco. This offers unparalleled convenience and flexibility for busy individuals or those with mobility challenges.
2. What types of documents can you notarize?
We can notarize a wide variety of documents, including but not limited to:
Real Estate Documents: Deeds, loan documents, mortgage agreements
Legal Documents: Affidavits, powers of attorney, trusts, wills (though we cannot give legal advice on their content)
Financial Documents: Bank forms, certifications
Personal Documents: Travel consent forms for minors, medical directives, sworn statements
Copy Certifications: Certifying true copies of certain documents (e.g., powers of attorney).
Please note that we cannot notarize birth certificates, death certificates, or marriage certificates. Certified copies of these must be obtained from the issuing government agency.
To have a document notarized, you must present a valid, unexpired government-issued photo identification that includes a photograph, physical description, and signature. Acceptable forms of ID in California include:
California Driver's License or ID Card
U.S. Passport or Passport Card
Other State-issued Driver's License or ID Card (from any U.S. state)
Foreign Passport (stamped by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services)
U.S. Military ID
Driver's License or ID Card issued by Canada or Mexico (must be a border crossing card)
Important: The name on your identification must match the name on the document exactly. If there's a discrepancy, please contact us beforehand to discuss options.
Our fees consist of two parts:
Notarial Act Fee: California state law sets the maximum fee for each notarized signature at $15.00.
Travel Fee: This fee covers our travel time and expenses to your location within San Francisco. Our flat travel fee for any location within San Francisco is $70.00. Additional fees may apply for after-hours, weekend, holiday, or rush appointments. For locations outside the City & County of San Francisco, please contact us directly for a custom quote and to discuss availability. We will provide a clear, all-inclusive quote before confirming your appointment. For loan document signings or complex packages, a flat rate is typically quoted. Please contact us for a customized estimate tailored to your specific needs.
No, please do NOT sign the document before the notary arrives. For most notarial acts, you must sign the document in the physical presence of the Notary Public. We will witness your signature as part of the notarization process.
No. As Notaries Public, we are strictly prohibited from providing legal advice, explaining the contents of your document, or preparing legal documents. Our role is to verify your identity, witness your signature, and ensure the proper execution of the notarial act. If you have questions about the legal implications of your document, we recommend consulting with an attorney.
The duration of an appointment depends on the number of documents, the type of notarization required for each, and the number of signers. A single signature notarization can take as little as 5-10 minutes once we arrive. For more complex transactions like loan signings, it can take 30 minutes to over an hour. We strive for efficiency to respect your time.
Some documents require witnesses in addition to the notary. Please note, it is your responsibility to provide any required witnesses. Witnesses must be at least 18 years old, have valid identification, and cannot be a party to the document being signed or benefit from the transaction. If your document requires witnesses, we kindly ask that you ensure they are present at the time of the appointment.
